Our first baby store adventure...

So, today we found some courage and went to brave Babies "R" Us and Buy Buy Baby.  We were able to glean a ton of information about travel systems, baby carriers, and strollers.  We had a few meaningful conversations about furniture and a lot of time was spent in an overwhelmed state.  I think it kind of hit us how expensive all the "stuff" is for a baby.  ugh.

Before our information gathering excursion I had a visit with the family doctor.  I have had a sore throat for about 6 days now and figured I should make sure it wasn't strep or anything else scary.  No strep...back to waiting it out.

Tomorrow would be my grandmothers birthday.  I wish that she could meet this kiddo....she loved babies.

Any advice on "must-haves" and "don't needs" when it comes to all things baby would be GREATLY appreciated.  What can we "skimp" on and what do we need to really invest in?

  1. Wipes warmer? Unnecessary. Also, baby towels. We always just used big towels. The little washcloths are kinda handy, though. We never used our mobile or bumpers and actually the quilt to our bedding was stiff (more like a wall hanging. Lol. Gas drops, many bibs, onesies and flannel blankies are very important. You can wipe all manner of baby gunk with them. We also have a sound machine that is worth it's weight in gold. Its a $20 projector/sound machine from Target. It travels with us and makes the kids feel like they're in their own beds.
