22 Week Update

Image
This week has been a really great week.  Baby Girl is moving and stretching like crazy!  She has also been responding to different (loud) noises this week!  She jumps every time anyone around me uses a stapler.  lol.  I am, however, sleeping less during the night.  I have found myself awake and checking facebook and pinterest at very early hours of the morning - which is totally not me!  I am a sleeper...this baby is going to rock my world!  I feel as if my belly has slowed down in the growing department lately.  Still no weight gain, which I guess is good...but weight is migrating to my thighs and now my maternity pants are snug.     Samson is not loving all of the baby things that are finding their way into the house.  The other night he sniffed the bassinet and kept whining at me as if to say "What is it!?" and "Why is it here!?"  Poor little guy, isn't going to know what hit him when she gets here.    This time next week I will be finished with ALL (can I

Samson is not so sure....

So today, a friend from school passed on a bassinet that she is no longer using for her little one.  I am very excited about it, as it is the first "big" baby thing that we have.  We have designated a corner of our living room right now for all things "baby".  So far, Samson has chosen to ignore that corner, unless we leave clothes out, then he steals them and runs around the house for attention. Today we brought in the bassinet and left it in the corner.  At first, he was very content to sniff the wheels and the legs.  After dinner, we walked into the living room to find this...Samson, almost all the way in the bassinet, whining and wagging his tail, as if to ask..."what is it?" and more importantly "why is it here?"  He was very upset with it and this continued for a good 10-15 minutes, before we finally convinced him to come back and join us on the sofa while we work on grad school stuff (or as I am doing, avoid grad school stuff! lol).

Pink Explosion

So of course, since we found out that our sweet baby is a girl, there has been a pink explosion at our house.  lol.  We, of course, had to stop by Target on the way home Thursday night, and of course, Saturday we went to Walmart....and Matthew's parents went to a church consignment sale...and so it begins.  lol.  Finding out the gender of our sweet little one has made this whole experience much more "real".  I know it is "real" because I am the one who is carrying this child, but even so, there have been times when I have wondered if I wasn't just imagining all of it.  Now it is very real.  No, we are not sharing her name, but Matthew has began referring to her by name, which was a bit odd at first, but has helped reality set in for sure.  I am still feeling well this week.  I have found that I can't walk or stand for long periods of time, as my back doesn't want anything to do with that. The round ligament pains are still hanging around to
