Four Months!

Image
Our sweet girl has reached a new milestone....4 months old! Next week we have our 4 month check up, which means we will see how much our little one has grown, we will get more shots, and we will get to begin solid foods!  This last month has been a whirlwind with Advent and Christmas.  On Christmas Eve Elliott had her acting debut as Jesus.  She did so well!  She fussed for just a second and then fell sound asleep...despite it being so warm under the lights.  Things about our sweet girl: * She can Laugh!....totally melts my heart. *we are still working on sitting up....we are so close!  *I am pretty sure that we are working on getting teeth. *sleep through the night!!!  ( Can I get a Hallelujah?!?!) *She has officially found Samson....watch out! *She loves toys that light up. *She was not interested in the Christmas tree. *She hates for her feet to be covered by a blanket. *She loves "The itsy-bitsy spider" and the "Alphabet Song" *She doesn't suck

Three months!

Can you believe that Elliott is 3 months old?!  I surely cannot.  My baby is officially no longer a newborn.  As sad as I am that she is getting so big so fast - this last month has been so fun!  Things Ellie can do now: *say "Momma".  That's right...I have it on video to prove it. *give the biggest gummy grins ever. * sass. (Matthew says she gets that from me....) *squeal with delight.  Seriously, this is the cutest thing ever! *chew on her fingers. * pull her favorite toy to her mouth. *she is trying so hard to sit up.  She is going to get it within the next couple of weeks.  *blow awesome spit bubbles. *sleep in her crib. *function without a pacifier.  :) This past week she has hit a major growth spurt.  We can see that she has physically grown, but her schedule has also shifted pretty significantly.  We are back to having some trouble sleeping again.  Which of course means that Matthew and I are exhausted.  But the cute factor makes the sleep deprivati

Night time struggles....

So, I knew that sleep would be a challenge, but I didn't expect all of this.  Please note, Elliott is a GREAT baby and I know that compared to other Mommies/babies we have it made in the shade, but we still have our struggles.  As I have stated before, Elliott is a great sleeper.  Once she finally goes down for the night she sleeps great.  It is that getting down part that is rough.  Before the time change she was finally giving in at around 2 am, which we were able to adjust to 1 am.  Since the time change (which for most households is awful...not ours!) we now are able to get her down around 12am.  Hallelujah!  For a little over a week now she has been sleeping for about 6 hours, waking for a feeding, then right back down for about three more hours.  Which by all accounts is a successful night.  I had given much thought to the whole pacifier vs. thumb sucking debate before we had Elliott and I thought in my grand plan that I wanted her to take the pacifier.  I believed that

2 months!!

So, I know....Mommy fail.  It has been a whole month since I last posted!  My previous routine was to blog in the evenings in front of the good ole tv....boy have those days changed!  Making time to blog has gotten the shaft for sleep, washing bottles, and of course taking care of our sweet girl.  I will try really hard to be better this next month.... So what has been happening? Well, Elliott is now smiling!  A big ole gummy grin!  It is seriously the cutest thing ever.  AND she coos and chatters...A LOT.   When she finally does start talking I don't think she will ever stop.  She has turned into an amazing baby.  She rarely cries - only when she is hungry or their is a rogue air bubble.  Otherwise, she sleeps and talks and smiles.  LOVE.  Elliott has also had lots of firsts... 1.) Elliott began taking real baths in a tub in the sink.  She likes the water and is beginning to kick and splash a little.  She is very quiet in the tub....for now.  2.)  Elliott has been attendin
