35 Weeks!

Weeks to go!! This week has been less eventful than last week....thankfully.  This weekend we worked very hard on the house, trying to get curtains up, pictures on the walls, the nursery organized and things put away.  It is nice having curtains and pictures up, there is still some work to do as far as that goes, but it makes the house feel much warmer and "homier".  This week something crazy happened.  I agreed to teach part of band camp for a friend.  What?!?!  That's right, I am teaching afternoon sectionals (don't worry...it is in the air conditioned building....).  It has been a very long time since I have been a part of marching band world.  I am not sure if I have missed this world or not.  I have realized that I don't miss the teenage girl drama.  lol.  Should be fun when baby girl reaches that fun age.  During week 34 I felt like Baby Girl had flipped to be head down.  I have doubted myself over the past two weeks, as sometimes I feel like I am n

This week (34) was rough....

I don't even know where to begin this week.  There has been so much going on and so many emotions that it is hard to put it all down here in words.  Let's start from the last post.... On Thursday we had our 33 week appointment.  Our doctor (not our original...but ya know) told us that everything was going well and that we shouldn't be concerned about anything...including baby girl's size.  Easy for her to say.  We have decided that worrying about it won't do us any good and we will find out more information at our 36 week appointment.  Saturday, we had a joint bridal/baby shower with my cousin Ashley and her fiance, Dan.  We had the shower at my parents house.  It was great seeing all of the friends and family that came out.  Of course, there had to be a "glitch".  lol.  Just as almost everyone had arrived, the prayer was said, and Ashley and I were starting the food line, the power went out.  It was already a bit warm in the house and thankfully, it w

6 Weeks to go!

Weeks to go!  Only six more weeks to go!  Matthew and I are definitely getting excited and very anxious.  We can't wait to see our little girl, but at the same time we are very nervous about not having everything (including us!) ready for her arrival.  We had a doctors appointment today which went very well.  I found out that my OB/GYN, who is currently out on her own maternity leave, has decided to stay out longer than planned (which I totally don't blame her for), but that means that she won't be delivering our baby girl.  I am sad in that my doctor is wonderful.  She is patient, laid back, and calm....which I am going to need.  :)  The doctor I have been seeing in her absence is great, definitely more type A and OCD, which I relate well to, I am just concerned that her personality might be too much for me in delivery.  Most people say that it doesn't matter who delivers the baby....I hope this is true.  While at the doctors office we did our first non-stress te

Uh oh....

So, I know I just posted yesterday, however, today we went to the doctor....and received interesting news.  We knew that we were going to get to see our sweet baby today, and they would also give us an estimate of size, since they watch that closely in girls like me.  So in we went...super excited.  We began the ultrasound and I noticed that the gestational age (GA) that was showing on the screen was incorrect...it was too advanced.  As I was about to say something, I realized that the correct GA was at the top of the screen and the number I was looking at was Baby Girl's measurements.  Baby Girl is a porker.  She weighed in at 5 pounds, 5 ounces....and we still have 7 weeks to go.  Matthew and I went into panic mode.  The doctor didn't seem too concerned...she said we would check again in 4 weeks and make a plan from there.  Oh dear.  So needless to say, we are a hot mess and ready to get the nursery finished.  lol.   On the upside ( I guess?!?!)  I have lost weight this wee

Nesting.....finally!

So if you know me, you know I have been dying to nest for some time now.  I have been pinning ideas and projects on pinterest like a mad woman, just waiting for the time that I could actually do some of them.  Well, I think this coming week is it.  :)  I have been to Michael's to get craft supplies, I am hitting up the scrapbook store tomorrow, I have already been to the fabric store once with my aunt, but I think I am going back on Friday.....if I don't make it there tomorrow.  lol.  Matthew has been commissioned to put together the new desk/craft table downstairs so that I can pull out the sewing machine.  This girl is ready.  I am prepared to make pretty much everything decorative for Baby Girl's room. Speaking of the nursery, it is painted and a few bookshelves have been put together with the help of my father in law and my wonderful husband.  The color has turned out fantastic!!  I am so excited about it.  The crib, rug and mobile should be in sometime this next week
