26 weeks!  14 to go!  (ish...maybe 13)...if I think about that too much I will cry.  Crazy hormones. The "What to Expect" app suggests that baby boy is about the size of an acorn squash (about 14inches and 2 pounds).  He is apparently growing sweet eyelashes this week and will begin to open his eyes some.  He is also beginning to respond to some of the visual stimulus and responding to sounds around him.  I go back to see my team of doctors tomorrow and I believe that they will do an ultrasound as well.  Hopefully he is still growing on schedule!  I am hoping to see my regular OB tomorrow.  Last time, she was out with a sick child and I saw one of her partners, who was great, but left me feeling less than confident with some of the choices we have made, although I don't think it was intentional.  I love that this office allows me to be treated by one OBGYN instead of having to rotate like so many other offices do.  I like the stability that comes from seeing the same do

Skip one and 25...

Sorry about missing the update last week. Life became very chaotic and with Matthew being out of town for the week I just let it go.  I would love to say that this week has improved, but it would be a lie.  I will tell you more about that in a minute.   This is the start of 25 weeks.  We are slowly nearing the end of the second trimester, which is overwhelming to think about.  Baby boy is now about the size of an eggplant, so about 13 inches and a pound and a half.  He is working on developing his capillaries and soon his arteries, especially in the lungs.  His lungs are still far too underdeveloped but we are slowly making our way!   Baby boy seems to be heavy on the hiccups recently.  This is made especially fun when he sits on my bladder.  Nothing like a bladder that randomly spasms in the middle of the night.  Or morning.  Or evening.  Or any time really.  He still also does not like to have any pressure upon him.  He doesn't like me laying in certain positions, either o

23 Weeks!

Today marks the 23 week mark.  According to the "What to Expect" app baby boy should be about the size of a grape fruit and weigh a little over a pound.  He is starting to gain fat now and will double in size over the next four weeks.  Last week we had a check up with the team and was able to see baby again and check on his heart, which we weren't able to see last time.  Every thing looked perfect!  Baby boy was weighing about 1 pound 2 ounces which put him in the 68th percentile.  Don't worry, I can't imagine he will remain "big" as I generally make little babies.  He showed his true self and was very unhappy with the ultrasound tech for pushing into his space.  He even made a grumpy face and kicked the transmitter.  Heaven help us with this one.  hahaha.  My glucose has fluctuated again, and in my opinion, has gone down.  My a1c last week was 5.2...which sounds awesome, but is lower than I was hoping for during this pregnancy.  I have decreased my ni
