Weeks to go!


 Only six more weeks to go!  Matthew and I are definitely getting excited and very anxious.  We can't wait to see our little girl, but at the same time we are very nervous about not having everything (including us!) ready for her arrival.  We had a doctors appointment today which went very well.  I found out that my OB/GYN, who is currently out on her own maternity leave, has decided to stay out longer than planned (which I totally don't blame her for), but that means that she won't be delivering our baby girl.  I am sad in that my doctor is wonderful.  She is patient, laid back, and calm....which I am going to need.  :)  The doctor I have been seeing in her absence is great, definitely more type A and OCD, which I relate well to, I am just concerned that her personality might be too much for me in delivery.  Most people say that it doesn't matter who delivers the baby....I hope this is true.  While at the doctors office we did our first non-stress test (NST) today.  I found that I LOVED that recliner. That was the most comfortable I have been in weeks.  The doctor found that our little girl is awfully active.  (What?  They don't believe me when I tell them?)  All looked great!  Baby Girl had a nice healthy heart beat and fought off the monitor as expected. 

The past few weeks have been sort of rough for me. I am definitely having a much harder time sleeping.  In fact, I have found that I am only sleeping a couple of hours at a time, if at all.  If you know me, you know that is a REALLY big change.  This girl likes to sleep.  I guess this is God's way of preparing me for her arrival.  My back has been causing me quite a bit of pain as well.  I guess due to my lack of sleep, I have very little energy.  ( I am sure the 100+ degree temps outside haven't been helping).  I feel like I am not getting anything accomplished during the day.  Hopefully, my energy will return and I will be able to get everything on my to do list will get accomplished before Baby Girl gets here.  Here's hoping. 

So this weeks pictures include more additions to the nursery.  Things are coming together for sure...but there is still so much work to do! 

OH, several of our new friends have asked if they can join in the name guessing game....sure!  Her initials are E.G.  We have heard some very interesting guesses!  Keep them coming!

Trying times...

  Yes, today is 14 weeks and yes a picture is coming I promise, but hubby isn't home yet.  :(  But I need to vent.  Today has been a very emotionally trying day.  Life seems to be overwhelming me (probably along with a few hormones too!) and I am really struggling today.  Between work, grad school, and other aspects of life, I am left worn out and stressed out.  I am well aware that I am very blessed.  I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities in life and even now with this baby on the way I realize how great I have things.  However, maybe this baby is helping me to put things into perspective.  Some of the things that I once found so important don't seem to matter as much.  Deadlines have been mere suggestions lately.  Most of all, I feel like I am struggling to find my voice in the sea of those who want to tell me what to do, how to do it, or how I should be feeling right now.  I can't decide if I want to cry or sleep.  I know that many of you are going throu

Holy Week

This week is Holy Week in the life of the church.  I love Holy Week and the somber reflection that comes with this week. Baby Kimmons has had an interesting week with all of the church services. I had the privilege of rehearsing and playing with the Baptist church for Good Friday, to which the baby was highly responsive. I hope that it is a musical child. It seemed to like the music and was dancing or something in there! We also had a Maundy Thursday service to which Baby K seemed to love all the singing as well.      Obviously, this has been a very busy week and I am exhausted.  The tired feeling has definitely not gone away, in fact, it may be even more intense.  I have been super achy this week as things seem to be growing and shifting even more. We had a bit of a scare yesterday, but after being all checked out, everything seems to be fine. Whadda ya think?

So, now that we have shared our big news, everyone's next question is..."well, are you going to find out the gender?"  My response is "ABSOLUTELY!" Ha!  My Type A- OCD personality has to find out.  Many people love the element of surprise that comes with not finding out, but I think the surprise of just meeting our beautiful baby will be enough, the rest must be planned.  :)  As far as preference, we don't really have one.  I would love to have a little girl to put big bow and flowers on their head and to cover in ruffles and frills, but a little boy would be tons of fun.  As long as the baby is happy and healthy, we are thrilled either way.  I have had several people make their suggestions as to gender based on my appearance.  One family member says it's a boy cause I am carrying all in front, a friend says it's a girl cause I am carrying down low.  My friends think it's a boy cause I haven't been puking like they were and they both had girl
